The Fragile Media exhibition is a graduate project of graduates of the Master's program Curatorial Studies of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences, St. Petersburg State University.
The exhibition curators Alexandra Tarasova and Yulia Lezhnina have collected works reflecting on the problem of the mutual penetration of form of analog and digital in contemporary art. Media artists and videographers reveal this problem through video installations, art objects, media installations and sound design.
I designed the title poster. In my work on this project I wanted to reflect the main idea
of the exhibition — the imperfection and fragility of media, as well as the process of obsolescence of technology in the transition from analog to digital signals of information transmission. On the basis of a poster, stickers and design for the social networks of the exhibition were also created.
The opening of the exposition was scheduled for early April 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic thwarted these plans and taught us how to adapt to rapidly changing environmental conditions. The exhibition has been moved online. And today any person at any day and hour can visit the exhibition and form his/her opinion about the problem.
