Made in Italy
Speaking figuratively

Euphemismthe use of a word or phrase to avoid saying another word or phrase that may be unpleasant or offensive.
As the sub-title suggest, this project starts by the idea of translate a concept, a topic based on an article, in a representation through the use of a figurative speech.
Our professor assigned the figures to use. In my case, I've received the euphemism.
Then I've done a research about this figure in journal articles and also in design cases, in particular when this figure has been used as key of lecture in a project.
Article to analyse
The article I've analyzed deals with the migrant problem in Italy. Due to the security decree, signed by Matteo Salvini, migrants find themselves having difficulties in obtaining a residence permission and documents, if they are not denied them. This means that getting a job with a regular contract becomes very difficult, if not impossible, making Italy a sort of factory of illegal immigrants.
Concept through euphemism
With this project I aimed to represent the condition of migrants, forced to a clandestine life by Italian laws that deny them rights such as humanitarian ones. To do this I was inspired by the works of Alberto Burri. My goal was to represent all the suffering, pain, fatigue that these had and still have to endure. The Made in Italy brand means that the cause of the conditions of migrants is due to the laws of our country, as if
Italy itself had created these clothes.
