The first asset here is an environment of a warehouse storage. I designed it with the idea that it could serve a video game-related purpose of a safe house or a check point, to be used in a horror game. I tried to apply illustration fundamentals such as the age of the location, the whereabouts of its previous owners and the state - hygenics-wise - of the interior wholly.
This is the same scene without textures. I love the way the light bounces through the complex scene. Even the cardboard on the ground has subtle, mild AO.
The scene again but in full-bright, no shadow. I wonder if adding color variety would have made the scene look more vibrant, but i like the somewhat muted colors for the walls and floor. i think this is about what you would expect for a typical warehouse setting; function over form and all that.
Here's a small camera pan of the warehouse. I didn't realize the light was captured on the ground, where the small windows were open from. That was surprising to see!
The second asset is a knife I created purely to understand bevels, sharpness, and to utilize Substance Painter. The knife itself is worn, with scuff marks and painting chipping off the side. Lastly, there’s a lot of dirt and grime to give the knife an aged look.
A closer look at the hand guard and the logo that reads "Rokon" which is my username in most services, such as my Twitter. I figured this would be a great way to identify myself as a creator and mark my work appropriately.
Here are the low and high poly meshes. I used the high poly mesh purely to bake the textures to the low poly model. Overall, I think it came out really well, but there's a bit on the mesh between the blade and the handguard where the shading seems a little bit off, and I think can be fixed if I utilize more edge loops there. It's not especially noticeable so I don't have to worry about it, but I think about it sometimes haha!
Here's the knife with its Normal, Diffuse/Color, and Mask Maps respectively.

A bar stool with blue pillows. I am improving  with Substance Painter, and this was one of my exercise objects.
