Almond blossoms

This illustration was born after a short holiday in Paris.
It was spring and there was a strong Asian influence throughout the city, especially Japanese.  In particular, to create this work I was inspired by a Japanese-style print by Van Gogh which he made in 1880 for his brother Teo, as a birth gift to his son.
Like Van Gogh, I chose almond blossoms to represent life, but not only!  Thanks to Japanese symbolism, I also wanted to represent strength, determination, perseverance and courage.  The search for a continuous inner balance.

I hope you like this illustration created with Procreate!
