STUDENT HOUSE IN MILAN

As student house comes to be a multi functional and comprehensive space of private and communal zones, it was very important to create a zone that would collide and assemble all students together by creating a big mutual level for their communication. So the student house is divided into 3 main functional zones. The ground floor comes to be as the main mutual level to bring all students together. It is a huge hybrid zone with different transparent pockets inside which provide communal spaces with different functions. The central axis of the ground floor is providing sitting areas that create working spaces and library pockets. Students pass through all the pockets taking the way from the entrance to the back yard. The 1st floor level is the level of podium. It is a free space with green zones and sitting areas. The bridge coming to the project area is being connected to the podium level. From 2 sides of the podium there are cascade and green slope which are bringing and integrating the podium level to the ground floor in this way creating an artificial landscape for the area. There are also openings on the podium level with elevators and escalators in them so they can strengthen emphasize the connection between the podium and ground levels. Also they are bringing the natural light into the ground floor. The 2nd floor plan and levels above are the living zones with private single, double and triple rooms. There are also green pockets designed by random distribution on the living zone levels that are communal spaces for students and are also bringing the natural light to different corners of corridors.
