The brief for this project was to come up with an original concept for a board game and to design and construct a full scale, playable model.

My chosen concept was a game based around constructing images from a series of coloured tiles. Players draw cards with words on them and must try to create these words within a time limit while a teammate guesses, earning the team points to advance around a board. Extra challenge was brought to the gameplay through various other elements including “perk cards" which give players certain advantages or disadvantages.
For the look of the game I decided to go for an appearance informed by pixel art, in keeping with the game’s title "pxl," and using only squares in the games visuals, pieces and typeface. A restricted colour set was also used comprising of 5 principle colours and greyboard, which was the main component of the box and board.
