Nottingham Panthers - Poster
After the successful creation of a digital poster and social media graphics, I became motivated to enhance my digital skill set. Up until this point my work has mostly been print based, so I felt that with my venture into digital, I needed to create something that both shows what I'm like as a designer and what I'm like as a person. The best way to do this, I felt, was to continue down a sports graphic route, specifically for ice hockey, my favourite sport.
Ice hockey is a fast paced and dynamic sport, so I started off by researching and getting inspiration from designs and designers that work within both ice hockey itself, but also sports similar to ice hockey's fast pace and dynamic feel, such as american football. One designer that caught my eye was Todd Mullins, a designer for an American Football team. After looking through some of him work I began teaching myself the tools and techniques I could see in his work, and then created my own poster/graphic around Robert Farmer, one of my favourite players who played for the ice hockey team I support, the Nottingham Panthers, as a thank you once he left the team.
