My main focus while creating the book “…A ja słuchałam” (“…And I was listening”)
was a combination of text and illustration. It consists of three parts which also make three separate stories.
In order to access each one of them a reader must open a window by pulling a brown ribbon.
By doing so we discover a multi-layered illustration. It is made out of several plastic sheets.
Each sheet is a different plane which can be viewed individually.
The multi-dimensional images are complemented by only few lines of text.
It refers to interpersonal relations. It is sort of a note out of someone’s diary.
The note that mentions an “Old Man”, someone that has been gone since a while.
Most of us have known such a person who reminds the “Old Man”.
I hope that by interacting with my book people can recall him or her in their mind.
I don’t think it’s a “completed project”.
A clue to the book is a reader's personal experience and that’s why
everyone can complete it in an own way.
