One of my favorite recent projects was for a Digital Imaging class. I created three matte paintings for a story cycle and character I created. The base photos were of the Wichita Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma, not far from my home in 2017-2019. The story begins with the hero, Pellerin, who lives in a dystopian society on a distant planet. In this world there is no art or culture, and no hope. It is a dark utilitarian world. He finds a star map that leads him on a journey through the galaxy in search of a world that has hope. He stops on three different worlds, each containing temptations that almost persuade him to not continue his journey. These paintings are the three worlds in the story.
