I have been tasked to design new shelves to hold our spare felts. Each felt weighs from 800 pounds to 2600 pounds. Through structural analysis and mechanics of materials methods, I was able to create the first design for the shelves with a factor of safety of five.

Currently, this project is in the cost estimation phase, where I am calculating the costs of materials and labor through quotes and advice from more experienced engineers. After this, my supervisor will look over my project with me and make modifications as needed.
