Part 5

Bliss was following Bean with careful steps. They were soaking wet. Everywhere was filled with mud and sticky moss. Bliss felt hungry and tired.

“Hey! I'm so tired and hungry. We need to rest and eat something. ” said Bliss.

“A place I know where to take a break we can, not too much way. Moreover, many shrubs with delicious fruits there are. ” said the fairy.

It was very strange and creepy in the woods that surrounded them. Every side of the forest was filled with eerie shadows. They seemed as if they were moving everytime sky thundered and lightning flashed.

After a time walking, an unpleasant strong smell had been felt in the air. “Do you feel that too, fairy? Do you smell it? ” The little girl felt like they were being followed. There were twinkling glitters between the tree shadows. She could not understand if the reflection of wet leaves or something was watching them.

"Have we not arrived yet?" Bliss asked. Bean did not answer. The cheerful fairy being was suddenly lost. “Hey what's going on? Why aren't you talking? ” she called with a worried voice.

Bean still hadn't answered her question.

They continued walking in the rain for a while. The rain slowed down, the wind eased. Despite all the spooky air, this strange forest had a magical beauty. Despite the darkness, there was so much shining like jewelry! Bliss was enchanted by the magical beauty of the forest, and would forget her hunger and tiredness, in fact, if she had not been so wet.
"Hey Bean, what's going on?"

"Shhhh! Be quiet, someone is watching us, ”said Bean.

Bliss' heartbeat accelerated. Bean suddenly stopped flying, then Bliss freezed to wait without moving. The effect of the smell was gradually increasing.

“Stopped following us whatever it was, I think” said the fairy.

“Oh! Arrived we, at last.. Take a break, you can here.”

They had walked to a large opening among the wide tree trunks, the only light source that allowed them to see their way in the forest was the shining nature, enormous variety of mushrooms, flowers and herbs, because there was still hours before the pink sky reappeared. Everything was like precious stars in the middle of the rainy magical night. How many hours did one day last in this world? Twenty four?

The only place that did not get wet from the rain came under a huge rock. In fact, it looked more like a skull of an enormous animal than a rock. Stalactites and stalagmites were being reminded of pointed teeth of a monster, and turned this area into a small sheltered cavity. Bliss sat down on dry and soft grass. She moved her hands over the grass. The grass shone with sprinkling glitters as if they were dancing harmoniously in the darkness. Suddenly, her hand touched something bright with a sharp pointed edge. When she took it in her hands, she realized that it was a heart-shaped gem stone with a magnificent beauty as bright as emerald.

"Where did this come from?" she murmured and looked through the glowing stone very carefully.

Bean the fairy screamed as soon as it saw the stone.

“Do you realize how lucky you are !!? You hold the heart of a dragon! According to the legend, the hearts of dragons, who died for natural reasons, turned into magic stones. Those who find this heart would have very special powers. ”

Bliss had not yet understood what kind of adventure she got into. The little girl began to look more carefully at the stone. It was as green and bright as emerald. All the shades of green were visible as she moved. She took a closer look at the stone and thought the stone called to her. The voice as if singing a magical song. She could swear the sound came through the heart stone was real. Suddenly the stone flung off her hands and started to turn around itself very fast. The glitters started to revolve around. It shrank, shrank, shrank… It came in through Bliss's mouth with a sudden turn. Bliss freezed where she was. Bean screamed, worriedly flying around the girl ravingly. The little girl fell unconsciously on the ground. Her breathing slowed. Poor little fairy was frightened. Bean smacked in its mouth and in an incomprehensible weird language, shaking back and forth itself, and covered its face with its hands. The fae didn't know what to do. Bliss stayed unconscious for a while, after a few minutes she began to open her eyes slowly. She started looking into the void. The fae worriedly said, “Bliss! say something! Okay, are you?"

She set and leaned to the rock. She seemed very quiet and very calm. And by looking at Bean she said.........

Part 20

Bliss could use better creative power of Gore the dragon each time. However, she did not yet know what to do. She had to think fast.

She lunged towards Gwylnock, running towards her. She was exhausted. She felt as if she was about to run out of energy. She spreads her dragon wings and quickly took off. But she could not escape the strike of the Hunter's shining sword. She was wounded. She screamed with pain and disappointment. Gore felt the same pain as Bliss. Did he leave her? Her body hit the ground too rough.

Birchley and Bean didn’t want to believe what they saw. Little girl was lying on the ground motionlessly. Her wound was quite deep. But she was still breathing. The hunter began to laugh hysterically with a peak of his victory euphoria.

“NHAAHAHAHHAAHAHAHA! You idiot, little fool. I beat you! ”

Bliss had returned to her human form but she was still unconscious. The dragon slayer started walking towards the little girl lying on the ground to remove Gore's heart.

Meanwhile Bean started humming with pain, little folk was glowing as a firefly. Small glow dots appeared from the fog and darkness covering the battlefield. It was as if there were hundreds of sounds that accompanied Bean's murmur. Gwylnock was trying to figure out what was going on. He grunted and looked around. His steps slowed. The murmur turned into a strange melody, as a painful lament. The lights grew bigger and bigger. Hundreds of tiny fairies enlightened the darkness accompanying Bean and surrounded Bliss. Birchley could no longer see Bliss through the fairies. He had a feeling of great guilt with eternal sadness. He could not successfully fulfill his promise to Oakre. How would he come back to home now after all these horrible nightmares?

The dragon slayer step forward, scattering the fairies and removing Gore's heart from Bliss’s chest. Actually, he did not intend to give the heart to Mahognian, the leader of the Shades. He had thought of using it for himself. If Gore gains its strength, he will capture the hearts of other dragons and defeat the Shades, there would be nothing to stop him. Everyone would be afraid of Gwylnock and have to respect him.

The number of fairies was increasing. Everywhere surrounded by glitters and sparkles. A large fairy horde flew towards the hunter. They were trying to protect and heal Bliss and give the little girl enough time to recover. Of course, a couple of little fairies could not stop the great dragon slayer. But hundreds of them could delay his terrible plan. The hunter was furious. He grunted with anger;

“Little useless creatures. You will never stop me! ”

He was approaching Bliss, his steps speeding up. Birchley threw himself in front of the hunter.

“You will never get the heart! Over my dead body! ”

"HAHHAHHAH! What are you planning to do with your skinny body treeman? Do you think you are as strong as a dragon or as me? So show it and let's see your strength skinny trunk!”

His terrible laughter had discouraged Birchley. He was aware that he could not beat Gwylnock. However, he was determined to defend Gore's heritage and Gore’s little guardian until his last breath, no matter what.

The fairies surrounding Bliss had formed a huge ball of light. The light was getting wider. Bean's lament became a murmur, then a whisper, and sudden silence covered the woods. Birchley stopped just for a moment. Gwylnock had this opportunity and used it to stick his crunching sword into the beautiful creature’s body. Birchley fell to the ground gracefully. The fairies were screaming in pain. They attacked from all sides like wasps. The hunter was mad and he looked like he lost his control, lost in madness. He swung his sword uncontrollably.

At that time, the light that surrounded Bliss began to dissipate. Bliss was sitting on her knees, her head bent forward. She looked up at the dragon slayer. Her eyes were shining. She opened her mouth and the fumes began to come out. Gore’s vision appeared in front of Gwylnock. He was hanging in the air with hand spread his wings to both sides with a breathtaking glamour. He seemed so alive and real, astonishing.

"You're just a ghost but nothing more!" said.

Gore didn't say anything. Fumes started to come out from Gore’s mouth. Smoke created a ring around Gwylnock. Four more dragons appeared around the ring. The slayer was surrounded by all five dragons protected by the tree of life! The hunter's anger turned into fear.

“I beat you once and I can beat you once again! You are nothing without your hearts!”

He made a move to attack but the fairies were still attacking and biting him all around.
Bliss was turning into her dragon form again. She seemed she got used to shape shifting. Her wound was still evident. Bliss, however, did not appear to be affected. The hunter was in surprise and confused. The dragons roared, smoke coming out of their mouths. Fumes merged in the middle of the smoke ring. It was obvious that the fairies could not harm the hunter. Their purpose was not to hurt anyway but to drag the hunter into the middle of the ring. By their creation, they could not harm any creature at all.

The smoke and fire united in the middle of the ring took the form of a beam of light of colors that had never been seen before. With a quick and sudden rumble, a lightning bolt hit to the top of Gwylnock.

Silence…

Only the sound of wings was heard in the silence…

The dragon slayer and his terrible plans no longer exist. But the leader of the Shades was still watching them behind the woods, still determined to destroy the light and the goodness. Maybe it was not the right time to take Gore's heart. He attempt to escape from his hiding place. He quickly turned back but failed. The lightning from the spirit of the dragons hit him at once and destroyed Mahognian before he could go one step further. There was no shadow left.

The five dragons reunited in the image of Gore. Gore and Bliss were standing next to each other. Birchley was still lying on the ground. There were fairies around Birchley trying to heal him. Bean was quietly worried and trying to understand what happened. He was like he was in a bad dream.

The fairies started to gather again at the point where the hunter was defeated. They flew aside and a magic passage opened in the middle of the flock. A creepy hissing was heard from the gate created in this whole atmosphere of the battle. Naga came out of the gate with all her majesty. Then returned to Bliss and Gore. Bliss had returned to her human form. She was exhausted. She saved the last energy crumbs to understand what Naga would say…
