First pre-assignment for School of Motion Cinema 4D Basecamp was 'Your Favourite Place" using only primitives and 5 colours (1 for the background). The goal of this is to get used to the interface of C4D and primitive objects.

I decided on a local pub as I'm looking forward to catching up with friends in a beer garden at some stage. Very loosely based on some references of my actual local pub. 

Blocking out the overall shape helped then focus on details. Was good experience just sticking to the primitives and not using any booles, deformers or making the shapes editable etc. 

Restricting to 4 colours on model was a good challenge too. 

I have changed the direction of the light in this picture compared to the one I submitted. 

Also, initially thought this project was due the next night. So got this complete in a day which I was very happy with. Hoping it's a good primer for the rest of the course.

Be Kind, Rewind - The first full assignment where we are tasked with creating a VHS cassette along with text using different spline techniques EJ showed us in lesson. 

Got some valuable feedback from my TA to practice with some settings on the spline pen and how to approach the text. Images above are the ones submitted for initial review.
